Reasons for Raising Snails on a Farm

Great demand for healthy food causes large and controlled production to satisfy the market, and at the same time to protect the nature balance. In great many countries, protection of certain cultures is strictly regulated by the law.

EU members have completely banned collecting snails from nature.

In our country, there is the law of putting under control the usage and selling of wild plant and animal species (Official Gazette of Republic Serbia no.17/99), which allows selective collecting of snails from nature. It is expected, that as soon as our laws are adjusted to the EU laws, this selective collecting will be completely prohibited.

The demand for farm-raised snails in the world market is in a constant rise, as well as their price, and our Cooperative guarantees snail purchase and payment at the current market value.
